Rifle
Model 61 (Pre-war)
- Takedown
- 24 inch Round (or Octagon) Barrel
- Plain walnut with a pistol-grip Stock
- Barrel and Receiver Blued
- Forearm (slide handle) 11-grooved, less than 7", and smaller than the later production guns
- Gun shoots .22 Short, Long and/or Long-rifle (also WRF)
- Removable and Adjustable Rear Sight with elevator
- Numbered on Receiver and lower tang
- Serial numbered 1 to ~57,493
- Several "extra-cost" options and single calibers were
offered
Model 61 (Post-war)
- Takedown
- 24 inch Round (or Octagon) Barrel
- Pistol-grip Walnut Stock
- Barrel and Receiver Blued
- Forearm (slide handle) 17-grooved and larger (>8")
- .22 Short, Long and/or Long-rifle (also WRF)
- Removable and Adjustable Rear Sight with elevator
- Numbered on Receiver and lower tang.
- Serial numbered within 57,493 and ~ 342001
- Several "extra-cost" options and single calibers were
offered
Model 61 Magnum
- Takedown
- 24 inch Round (or Octagon) Barrel
- Pistol-grip Walnut Stock
- Barrel and Receiver Blued
- Forearm (slide handle) 10- or 17-grooved and either smaller (<6") or
larger (>8")
- Shoots only Win Mag .22 rimfire bullets
- Removable and Adjustable Rear Sight
- Numbered on Receiver and lower tang
- All guns with a larger bullet-shaped loading port in the outer magazine tube
- Serial numbered within 262,793 and ~ 342001
- Several "extra-cost" options were
offered
