A very difficult to find Model 12 in the B version. This is the GALLERY SPECIAL model, with this name stamped on the left receiver side above the serial number, and the rifle is made for .22 SHORT bullets. A serial number of 678807 places production of this rifle in 1926. Receiver still has over 95 percent bluing, with screws an back of the tang metal for sight mounting. The barrel has over 90 percent bluing remaining with the octagon edges worn and some mottling between. The magazine has less cover. Bore is very good on this rifle, shiny and still with strong rifling. Wood all solid with a few minor dents (e.g., right tang) but no cracks and wood is solid to metal unions. Forearm has scalloped screws with smaller retention screws. Sights are correct Remington factory issue with the short 98 1/2 rear sight and a No. 28 front sight. The curved butt plate has the Remington UMC logo stamped into the metal. This is an opportunity for the serious Remington Collector to secure one of these rare GALLERY SPECIAL Model 12 rifles.
