~~~SOLD~~~ Winchester Model 1906 Rifle (Ref #2197)
~~~SOLD~~~ Winchester Model 1906 Rifle (Ref #2197)
~~~SOLD~~~ A serial number of 823727 places construction of this 1906 Winchester rifle well after production records ceased in 1932. This had to be one of the last 1906 rifles put together from pieces at the factory, probably during the mid-to-late 1930s. When we received this 1906 Winchester rifle, it looked like it was stored incorrectly as the metal was covered completely with a light patina. The rifle had not been shot very much as the bore was in outstanding shiny condition, and still had strong rifling with no markings in the lands. So we decided to remove the patina covering and then covered the metal with six coats of slow rust bluing, which now covers over 99 percent of the metal surfaces. Both pieces of wood were replaced on the gun and are in excellent condition. The internal parts are all original, and each was removed and throughly cleaned. The gun now functions flawlesly, being easy to pump and bullets load and eject properly. The rear 30 A Winchester sight came with this gun, and is complemented with a No 77 C front sight, both original Winchester factory issued sights. Here is an opportunity to own a beautiful 1906 Winchester rifle in outstanding condition, and probably one of the last produced at the New Haven Winchester factory.
