~~~SOLD~~~ Winchester 1873 Carbine (Ref # 1950)
~~~SOLD~~~ Winchester 1873 Carbine (Ref # 1950)
~~~SOLD~~~ PRICE REDUCED by $800- Winchester 1873 Carbine in the less common 38-40 caliber. A very collectible all original gun, that also comes with original Winchester carbine cleaning rods and 38-40 bullet mold. A serial number of 212295B places production of this Third Model saddle-ring carbine in 1886, so the gun can be shipped directly to a Buyer without having to go through a FFL Dealer. Bluing covers almost 90 percent of the receiver and on the barrel covering is spotty, having turned to patina. A few handling marks and one scratch on the left receiver are present on the metal surfaces. Bore on this saddle-ring carbine is in excellent condition still with strong rifling. Roll die markings are clear on the barrel and the 38 caliber stamp on the carrier is still crisp. Sights are original Winchester issue with the Sporting Leaf (No. 44) on the rear and post on the front. The Sporting Leaf sight has 1873 stamped on top and is correctly marked for the 38-40 caliber, with 2-9 distance markings on the leaf. Wood is all solid with a few handling marks and one small repaired crack on the stock comb. The metal carbine butt plate has a trap-door and the three original carbine cleaning rod pieces are still present. The bullet mold has wooden handles and the correct Winchester factory logo stamped on the side. Here is a rare opportunity for the serious Winchester Collector to obtain a quality early 1873 saddle-ring carbine, in the less common 38-40 caliber, and with original Winchester accessories.
