A NEW CONSIGNMNT RIFLE---This wonderful old Winchester 1894 firearm is in excellent to good condition, and appears to be all original. The barrel is 26 1/4 inches, octagon. The serial number is 140858, and the rifle was manufactured in late 1897 or early 1898. This allows me to ship the rifle to any buyer as a FFL transfer is not necessary for this firearm. The following are marked clearly on the gun: ~~Nickel steel barrel expecially for smokeless powder, Patent, August 21, 1894, 30 W.C.F., 1894 Winchester .30-.30.~~ The bluing is still strong on the barrel and receiver. Wood all solid on this rifle.

I acquired the gun from my cousin's widow when I was fifteen (1956). My cousin carried the gun all the time. I knew him to live in Ennis, Montana. I shot what I think was my first deer with it near Prineville, Oregon - a white tail. Over the years, I only shot maybe six deer with it. All white tail. The latest was 1979. I gave up large animal hunting in that year, but I did sight the gun in one year since. The long, curved tail on the hammer bit me in the nose at that time and the crescent stock hurt my shoulder. I decided I didn't remember how to shoot a rifle. It has been in my gun safe ever since.

Although it is a beauty, I decided someone else should enjoy it.

If you are interested in making any offer on this rifle, Buyers can respond to me (Joe) by e-mail or you can call my cell at (971) 244-3905. The email is :bigbarnjoe@gmail.com.
