~~~SOLD~~~ Winchester 1873 in 44-40 caliber (Lowered $200 to $1579). Very early third model with no caliber markings on barrel or floor-plate, which is correct for this vintage 1873. Gun has a shiny bore with rifling present and markings in the lans. Serial number is 92471A, placing production in 1882, so this gun can be shipped without a FFL required. Wood dark and well used with small crack on forearm and another larger one on tang that has been repaired. Metal with some patina covering about 45% on the barrel and over 40% on receiver. Finger lever spring is weak. The rollstamped Kings-Improvement-Patented markings are still clear and visible on the barrel. Sights look to be period-style replacements, with semi-buckhorn rear sight. Correct curved metal butt plate with trap door missing screw. This rifle will make a good shooter, for a very early 1873 Winchester 3rd Model Sporting Rifle.
