An outstanding Winchester Model 1890, pump action rifle, chambered for the .22 WRF cartridge. The gun is a Third Model 1890, with a serial number 628205 indicating production in early May 1919, and a correct 24 inch octagonal barrel. The receiver has the correct locking bolt, and the magazine has a collar, and both are correct for the age of this gun. The wood stock and forend are in excellent condition, have the original finish, and are solid without any cracks or major handling marks. The original bluing metal finish on the barrel and magazine rate above 85% with a few minor blemishes. Finish on the receiver has turned a brown patina. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny with rifling present and only a few markings in the lans (an unusual feature for the WRF that used corrisive primers). The action functions properly, the bolt is tight to the receiver, and all internal parts work well. A very nice collectable 1890 Winchester in the less common WRF caliber.
