This 1873 Winchester is a 3rd Model in 38-40 caliber (38 WCF) that has been in the same family for three generations. The serial number of this gun (#468222B) places production in very early 1894. The gun is in very good condition with metal on the round barrel and magazine still with places of original bluing, and other areas having turned to a brown patina. Receiver still retains ~80% cover with over half still with original bluing, the remainder in patina. Bore on this gun is in outstanding conditon, still bright and shiny and rifling prominent. All wood still with original finish, in excellent condition, and tight to all metal. There is one dent in the lower stock near the finger lever, along with a few minor handling marks on the back portion. All internal aspects of the gun functional and in very good condition. Original dust cover and finger lever latch function properly. Crescent metal butt plate correct, with trap door functional. All wood is proud to the metal edges. This is a true Collector Quality 1873 Winchester rifle and will make an outstanding shooter. The gun can be shipped directly without a FFL.
