A consignment gun! This Model 88 Winchester "Centennial Model" rifle is .308 caliber and in outstanding ~98% condition. The rifle has a very low serial number of 222, which indicates one of the initial guns produced in 1955 during the first-year of production. The gun is a Sporting Rifle Model, in overall NRA ‘Excellent’ condition, retaining all original bluing on the round barrel with only some minor mottling on the receiver top. There is minimum wear on the finger lever action bluing and front of the clip. All wood on the gun is in excellent condition, with one small dent within the checkering on the left forearm. The gun has all original issue Winchester sights with front hood still present. Flat butt plate with Winchester logo is a correct option for a gun of that vintage. The gun comes with a hanging tag and soft gun case. A rare find for the Winchester Collector, especially with the very low serial number and quality of this Model 88 rifle.
