Click on Image to Enlarge - Backspace to Return	A CONSIGNMENT GUN. This is an exquisitly restored Winchester 1886 takedown rifle in .33 caliber. The 1886 Winchester was the finest and strongest firearm to be built under the ‘Winchester’ name, an improvement on the earlier Henry rifle. There are seven basic variations to the 1886 model and this gun is the rare .33 WCF caliber takedown version, a unique caliber and style made for the 1886. The serial number (#127807) indicates production of the original gun in 1902, with the possibility of duplication of serial numbers at the factory. This gun has been extensively refinished as the original straight-grip stock with rubber butt plate has been replaced with a fancy walnut stock with a crescent metal butt plate. The stock also has an inlaid picture, checkering, and raised cheek piece. The forearm wood on the gun is in excellent condition, and has been replaced and is checkered. The gun appears to be in very good mechanical condition, and looks to have been reblued on the receiver, barrel and magazine. The trigger, forearm cap, takedown mechanism, and butt plate have been redone into a gold-plate. The bore is assumed to have good rifling, but you have to contact the seller on this point. The sights on the gun have been replaced with period-sights. Overall, this gun is in pristine restored condition with extensive scroll work to metal and wood.
