WINCHESTER MODEL 1890 in .22 WRF caliber. The serial number on this early Third Model gun is 497957, indicating production in 1913. The 24 inch OCTAGON BARREL has a very good bore with outstanding rifling and only light marring in the lans (unusually good for the WRF that shot ammunition with very corrosive primers). Metal still has over 90% bluing on the barrel, while the magazine has started to turn to a patina and receiver is more worn, with some areas on the latter having turned to a brown patina. There are a few minor dents on the stock but the wood appears to still have the original finish. All wood-metal interfaces are tight. Original Winchester sights still on this 1890 with both having stamped patent dates. Internal parts in excellent condition and gun functions perfectly. A very nice collectable 1890 Winchester for the discerning Collector.
