The Winchester 1885 was a single-shot rifle offered by Winchester, built between 1885 and 1920 with slightly more than 139,725 guns sold, and each one is considered unique. this particular rifle is a standard high-wall, with thinside configuration, and serial # 43841 that places production right at the end of 1889. The rifle is a .22 WCF caliber that has an octagon barrel with formally a case-hardened receiver. The gun is in above average condition, with the barrel metal having more than 70% original bluing/brown patina covering left, with the only metal wear on the octagon edges and a little patch of old pitting at the barrel tip. The receiver has almost complete cover, except on the loading lever. The forearm wood is in excellent condition, while the stock has a minimum of handling marks and the wood is still proud to the metal. The Winchester sights are later manufacture and the rear sight is missing an elevator. The bore is in good shape with only very minor pitting. In 2008 there is a premium for the .22 WCF caliber.
