~~~Sold~~~ This particular 1892 Winchester is the rare 44-40 saddle-ring carbine configuration in EXCELLENT condition. With serial # 939427, this rifle was produced in early 1924 and looks to have been hardly used at all. The entire rifle is in original condition, with an NRA rating excellent. The gun has a round 20 inch barrel, one barrel band, full magazine, and the correct single barrel band. The barrel metal has more than 98% covering all in original bluing with one small spot on the left top. The receiver bluing has started to wear, and is also worn from the saddle ring hitting the left side, but still retains over 85% color. The forearm and stock wood are both in outstanding condition with original finish and virtually no handling marks. The correct original post front sight is still on the gun, as is the original rear ladder sight still retains 100% bluing. All parts of this gun function perfectly and are original Winchester issue. The bore is in outstanding condition, bright and shiney like a mirror. This 1892 is a rare find, and a real opportunity for the Serious Winchester Collector.
