A Winchester Sporting rifle with full octagon barrel in 32-20 (32 WCF) caliber. A serial number of 868325 places production of this rifle in the latter part of 1918. This is a very nice rifle in outstanding condition, with over 90% original bluing still remaining on the 24 inch octagon barrel and full magazine. The receiver metal bluing is worn, and some of the bluing still remains on the curved metal butt plate. The bore on this rifle is in excellent condition, bright and shiny with crisp rifling. Wood also very good, solid at metal unions, no cracks and very few handling marks. All internal parts function with bolt closing cleanly, trigger spring still tight, and hammer holding tight at half-and full-cock. There are special order sights on this gun; a Winchester Model 22C Flat-top rear sight and a Lyman No. 2 Hunting front sight with an ivory bead. Overall, an outstanding shootable and collectable 1892 Sporting Rifle in a less common caliber.
