Purchase

  • If you have questions about a transaction at any time, please email Charles van Riper III at(charles@homesteadfirearms.com ) or call us 1-520-749-1813 to find out if the item you are interested in is still available.  Guns that are presently available for sale are loaded in the shop cart.
  • Once we agree on a sales price of the item, we will hold that item 5 business days awaiting payment. If we do not hear from you or payment is not received within 5 business days, the item will be returned to stock immediately.
  • We will combine your purchases to reduce shipping costs.  There will be a minimal shipping and handling fee.
  • All guns (except those that are NIB) are sold as antiques and as such carry no guarantee.  Every gun should be taken to a certified gunsmith prior to discharging any ammunition, in order to properly assess the safety of that gun for firing.  Many of the earlier guns that we sell were originally made for black powder loads, and NOT the new smokeless powders used in today's manufactured bullets.
  • All purchases made on a time-payment schedule need to be finalized by six months or the item will be returned to inventory and relisted for sale.  When the item is relisted all installment payments are forfited.

Payment

  • We NOW accept all major credit cards, (but not Pay Pal)  for the sale of guns (there is an added 3.75% service fee when using a credit card- the actual cost to us from the credit card company).
  • We accept: --Cashier Checks or Money Orders and they have no sevice fee
  • We prefer Cashiers checks for any item purchased over $1,000.
  • Western Union Wired U.S. funds. Contact us to find out whose name to use on the wire. Click here to find a Western Union Agent location near you.
  • We will also accept Personal Checks, but we will not ship until your personal check has cleared payment, usually 10 business days.
  • For all items that have been purchased and not claimed,  within one year ownership reverts back to Homestead Firearms and the item will be relisted for sale.

International Sales

  • We will consider International purchases on an individual basis and only for guns manufactured prior to 1898.
  • We must receive payment within 10 business days. If payment is not received within 10 business days following your email confirmation, the item will be returned immediately to or stock and placed back for sale.
  • We accept:   All major credit cards and Internation money orders.
  • Western Union wired in U.S. funds. Contact us to find out what name to use on the wire.

-OR-
  • Wired Bank transfer. Contact us for Banking information.
  • Unfortunately we Do Not accept credit cards for international sales.
  • International purchases will be shipped UPS only.
  • Invoices on all shipments reflect the correct purchase price. All documentation must match: packing invoice, custom invoice, Shippers Export Declaration(SED) and shipping invoice.

Shipping

We ship all domestic items via the US Post Office or UPS, unless otherwise requested.

Return Policy

  • We provide each customer with a 3-day inspection period, following receipt of the product.
  • We must receive the merchandise back, unfired or unsed, and in the same condition as we shipped it in order to qualify for receipt of a refund.
  • We refund only for the purchase price of the merchandise. No shipping or credit card charges are refunded.
  • There will be a $25.00 restocking and handling fee paid for each $500 value of the returned item.
  • Transactions cancelled prior to shipment will still be charged the service fee (if your credit card has been run) and the restocking fee.
  • Ownership of all items left at Homestead Firearms that are not claimed within 12 months, revert back to Homestead  Firearms.

Trades

We are always open to trades, however, it is very difficult to accomplish trades on items that we have not seen in-hand. We prefer to reserve trades for in-person transactions, due to the problem of evaluating something sight unseen. If you elect to send an item to us for evaluation, we will evaluate the item in a timely manner and make you the best offer possible. You will need to cover shipping costs both ways, only if we are unable to reach an agreeable trade or sale amount.

General Questions on YOUR items

We will gladly answer any questions that you have on items that you presently have, and wish to get appraised, sell or trade.  We look forward to your correspondence.
