A very rare Winchester 1892 takedown rifle in the 25-20 caliber (< 1% produced). The serial number of 341505 places rifle production in early 1906. This rifle is in very good condition with metal having considerable bluing cover with some fading to patina in places. Barrel strong 95% bluing with only octagon edges worn - magazine 100%,receiver fading only on front-bottom and with over 90% bluing - bolt 100% bluing, upper tang worn on front by hammer lower tang strong bluing as does the finger lever. Special order wood (looks to be rated 'X' quality) in excellent condition accompanies this special order takedown. Curved metal butt plate is correct and still retains almost complete bluing. Original issue Winchester sights still on the gun with the front being a Model 21 fixed sight having the special order brass blade, while the Sporting rear sight still has the original elevator. This is a rare opportunity for the Serious Winchester Collector to obtain one of the rarest 1892 varieties. When examining the Winchester production records, the scarcity of the combination of caliber and the take-down feature on this rifle is what makes this one really unique.
