~~~SOLD~~~ A very nice early Deluxe Model 71 in .348 caliber with the longer tang. A serial number of 15829 places production of this rifle in 1939. Metal still with over 98 percent bluing. Barrel has almost complete bluing and also no wear on the half magazine. Receiver still with most of bluing and even finger lever has not lost much color. There is a little thinning on the lower receiver. Forearm wood in excellent condition and checkering still crisp. The stock butt area looks to have been worked on and LOP is 1/16" shorter than factory length. A correct metal butt plate is present but wood/metal union is not crisp. Checkering is still crisp on stock. Bore is bright and shiny and rifling prominent. This .348 CALIBER rifle has the factory-original Model 98-A peep sight attached to the bolt and the gun comes with sling swivels and leather sling. This is a very nice long-tang Model 71 Winchester rifle at a reasonable price.
