A serial number of 4974933 indicates production in the late 1970s and on the market in 1981 before Winchester closed their factory in New Haven CT. Gun still retains over 95 percent bluing and only minimun wear on the lower receiver from carrying. All wood in excellent condition with virtually no handling marks. Buttstock with correct Winchester-logo buttplate and bore is immaculate. Gun comes with sling swivels and a new leather shoulder strap. A perfect hunting rifle that would retain Winchester collector value.
