1890 Early case hardened Second Model Receiver Group
1890 Early case hardened Second Model Receiver Group
These are the hard-to-find Early Second Model 1890 receiver groups. Each is composed of a receiver and metal trigger guard. These were case hardened and serial numbered from ~ 15500 through ~ 113000, and only on the tang. The receiver has no serial number. Condition of cover on the metal varies among these receiver groups. There is an option provided for slow-rust bluing for the receiver if you choose. These receiver groups are listed by serial number, so you get to choose the one you like best. Here is the foundation for a very nice 1890 restoration project. There are also 1890 restoration manuals for sale on the web site, at the address: http://homesteadparts.com/shopcart/pid_952.htm Most of these receivers were made at a date that does not require shipping to someone who holds a FFL. The date of production is prior to January 1899.
